Shabbir Ali is a singer, composer, music producer, and poet from Pakistan who rose to fame from the hit reality music show ‘Cornetto Music Icons’, aired in 2013. His debut single ‘NA JA’, that aired on the show, was the most viewed original track on this show.
Having worked with artist like Ahsan Bari, Strings, Shahi Hasan, Shallum Xavier, Faisal Rafi, and many more, Shabbir has had the opportunity to prove himself along side legendary artists. For the show ’ Cornetto Music Icons’, Shabbir teamed up with Strings, Shallum Xavier, and Shahi Hasan to recreate the song ‘Duur’, one of the biggest singles of Pakistan.
Shabbir’s unique tone coupled with his intrinsic poetic ability gives him a great edge. His family tree has traces of a number of great poets, which has left a generational influence on his wordplay.
Shabbir’s musical journey started when he was in his 10th grade and he picked up the guitar and started singing. There was no stopping after! His innate musical sense helped him quickly pick up musical patterns. He was soon playing for local bands, doing individual performances, and making waves throughout the city. His initial foot in the door was with a local HipHop Semi Classical music group known as ‘The Crimson Marine’. Their songs included a fresh blend of desi and western hip-hop/rap fused with RnB and Semi Classical/Pop music. This interesting blend helped him stand out locally. He then started to accompany different bands at a local gig, eventually leading to auditioning for Cornetto Music Icons.
Shabbir Ali currently resides in New Jersey, USA. With an academics in Analytics and Information Technology, he’s a technologist by day and a musician by night. Shabbirs discography includes Pop, Sufi, Indie and Kalaams.
